Michael Lum holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from National University of Singapore and a Master of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. To hone in his skills as a trainer, he pursued a Graduate Diploma (Training and Development) from Civil Service College, Singapore and a Certificate in Counselling.

For the last 18 years, Michael has been training management programs both in Singapore and in the region. He is also an associate trainer with Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and MIS. Additionally, he coaches business executives on a one-to-one basis and mentors start-ups and SMEs.

Michael is an associate faculty instructor with SIM University. He is also a certified trainer with American Board of NLP (Neuro-linguistics Programming), American Management Association and Louis Allen Leadership Program. An Associate Certified Coach with International Coaching Federation, he is also an IACT stressologist, NGH hypnotherapist, Laughter Yoga instructor, Advanced Toastmaster Gold and a Project and Risk Management Professional.

Prior to setting up his own business, Michael was the general manager of British and local MNCs. He was also marketing manager of an American MNC and spent 3 years working as a chief accountant in Sydney. A wordsmith in his spare time, Michael is the bestselling author of "I Once Wore Diapers”, “No Failure; Only Success Delayed”, “Who Broke My Rice Bowl?” and “From Beggars to Millionaires”. The first book is translated into 4 languages. He is a regular contributor in Management to Recruit, Straits Times.
