McCombs School of Business

Michael Hasler, PhD is a Lecturer at the Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses on Operations Management and Procurement in the Information, Risk, and Operations Management department. He is now the Program Director for the new Master of Science in Business Analytics at McCombs.

Hasler had a 25+ year career in industry prior to academia, and held a number of executive positions in Operations, Supply Chain, and General Management at several companies in the auto, defense, consulting, and semiconductor industries. His corporate experience includes General Motors, Nissan, and Applied Materials. He has owned several smaller companies over the years.

Hasler has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University, Masters degrees in Business and Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, and a PhD from Texas A&M University. In 2012 Dr. Hasler was named the winner of the Wickham Skinner Award for Innovation in Teaching from the Production and Operations Management Society; a prestigious, international teaching award. Additionally, Hasler received the McCombs CBA Foundation Award for Teaching.
