McCombs School of Business

Michael is a university lecturer, global traveler, author, and independent management consultant with over 20 years of professional expertise. He held strategic, financial, and operative executive positions at some of the largest and most respected global financial services firms.

"The Gift of Job Loss" is Michael's first career and life management book. The 24th Annual 2012 Benjamin Franklin Awards Competition, hosted by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), selected Michael's book in the "career" category as one of three finalists, and honored it with the Benjamin Franklin Silver Seal.

Michael lived, studied, and worked extensively all across Europe, the US, Canada, and South America. He has traveled to more than 50 countries, including India and China. Michael has gained a profound understanding of local business cultures around the globe. As a true cosmopolitan, Michael speaks four languages fluently (English, German, French, and Spanish).

Michael holds a PhD in Finance, summa cum laude, gained at the University of Trier in Germany, and earned an MBA, with distinction, from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

When not on the road, Michael enjoys his current residency in Austin, Texas. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Austin Classical Guitar Society.
