Melissa McVicker

MMelissa McVicker is the Associate Vice President of Human Resources Communications at Stanford University. She joined Stanford in 2017 with the charter to lead employee communications, change communications, and engagement. Previously, Melissa founded her own leadership communications consultancy where she worked with organizations and individuals to create unique messaging and build brand and marketing strategies. Melissa also teaches a course on multi-channel marketing through Stanford Continuing Studies.

Melissa has more than 20 years of experience in communications, including over 15 years at Intel Corporation, where she was a Senior Director in sales and marketing, leading the global employee communications organization to reach 100,000 employees. She also led global press, media, and analyst relations during her tenure. Her most recent position at Intel was as the Senior Director of Corporate Initiatives, where she connected consumers to Intel’s corporate social responsibility efforts. Additionally, Melissa is a certified executive coach and thrives on working with leaders and teams on developing communications, navigating change, building strategy, and defining purpose. She holds an MBA from UCLA and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico.
