Biography

Mauricio Larrain is Commissioner of the Financial Market Commission of Chile and Assistant Professor of Finance at Catholic University of Chile. Previously, he was Roger F. Murray Associate Professor of Finance at Columbia Business School. His research spans the areas of corporate finance, international finance, and banking. His work has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. His research has received awards such as the Review of Financial Studies Rising Scholar Award. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Financial Intermediation. Professor Larrain received a B.A. and a M.A. in Economics from Catholic University of Chile and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
