Matthew is a Partner and leads Simon-Kucher’s Transaction Services & Private Equity (TSPE) practice in North America, working out of its San Francisco office.

Matthew’s primary areas of focus are in pre deal and include:

  • Market Entry
  • Target Search & Screen
  • Commercial Due Diligence
  • Private Equity Portfolio Company Diagnostic
  • EBITDA Expansion

Matthew has over 20 years of global Strategic M&A experience, having lived and worked in North America, Europe, Africa & Asia, where he has previously started and built out multiple Deal Strategy practices.

He has worked on over 300 deals both sell and buy side, and is a Professor of Strategy, having taught on MBA and Executive education programs alike, focusing on value capture in acquisitions and disposals. He graduated from Rhodes University with a PPE, and has completed both the Mphil and MBA. Having published multiple papers on acquisition strategies, appeared on multiple media broadcasts, he is also an avid investor looking to unearth commercial growth.
