At Heartland, a real estate advisory services company, Matt Anderson applies his broad experience in real estate and city planning to create places that have a positive impact on the community and the environment while also achieving economic objectives. He works on property development, brokerage, strategic planning, market and financial analysis, and economic development projects. His projects include large-scale land development and site acquisition and disposition assignments. His work also includes finding innovative ways to integrate and leverage real estate economics and planning and policy objectives.

Prior to joining Heartland, Anderson worked as a land use and real estate economics consultant in Portland and San Francisco, respectively. He has a master’s in urban and regional planning from Portland State University and a bachelor’s in planning and public policy from the University of Oregon. He’s a licensed real estate broker in Washington and serves as Heartland’s designated broker. He’s on the board for Great City, an urban policy advocacy nonprofit, where he serves as treasurer. He’s also on the SCIDpda design and resource center advisory committee and is a member of NAIOP, the Urban Land Institute and Washington Public Ports Association.
