Biography
Harvard Medical School
Mary Catherine Ward, LICSW is a therapist and Program Leader in the Malden, Chelsea, Revere, Everett and Winthrop (MCREW) Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). She received her MSW from Simmons School of Social Work in 1995 and completed the now-defunct Couples and Family training Program at CHA in 1997 and has worked at CHA since that time. Her primary interests in trauma, systems and attachment theory led her to embrace the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, which has become the mainstay focus of her treatment with all of her patients since 2013, after completing IFS Level 1, 2 3 as well as “Intimacy from The Inside Out” - IFS with Couples. Mary Catherine is very interested in disseminating this non-pathologizing, systems-focused, patient-empowering, self-healing model of treatment to as many patients and therapists as possible.
