Biography

HECTOR School of Engineering & Management

After graduation from high school in Altenhundem, Germany in the beautiful Sauerland I studied electrical engineering in Paderborn and Dortmund. Later, I became an assistant at the Chair for "Theoretical Electrical Engineering and Electrical Machines". In 1995, I wrote my doctor thesis on the calculation of universal motors.

From 1995 to 2011 I was with Bauer Antriebstechnik GmbH in Esslingen and later with SEW Eurodrive GmbH&Co KG in Bruchsal. My topics covered the development of industrial electric motors of nearly all technologies in the low voltage range.

Since the beginning of 2011, I have a full professorship for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) at the Institute of Electrical Engineering (ETI) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where we are researching the development of electric drive technology from pedelecs, cars, commercial vehicles to electric aircraft.
