Aalto University School of Business

I teach the topics related to the fire safety engineering and the numerical fire simulation in particular. My research interests include the fire CFD, thermal radiation heat transfer, multi-phase flows, condenced phase pyrolysis and heat transfer, fire risk assessment, probabilistic fire simulation. Current research projects include

  • Fire safety of nuclear power plants (with VTT)
  • Thermal insulation fire risks
  • New fire risks for modern, air-tight buildings
  • Probabilistic design fires for large open-space steel-framed building
  • Novel fire safe materials by pyrolysis modelling
