Martin Cremer has a strong banking background, combining structuring expertise of complex private equity debt transactions with international negotiation skills. He has been working in this field for over 14 years in various financial institutions. Before joining Frankfurt School in 2011, Mr. Cremer worked as a freelance debt advisor and held various positions at Unicredit Corporates & Markets in Germany and France, as well as BNP Paribas, culminating as director of leveraged finance. His recent work experience with Frankfurt School includes identifying and negotiating terms with private equity investors in the context of implementing a UNEP Seed Capital Assistance Facility (SCAF) in sub-Saharan Africa. This initiative aims to help clean energy entrepreneurs access enterprise development support and early stage seed capital in addition to structuring and fund raising for the follow-on facility SCAF II. Moreover, Mr. Cremer is the project manager of the AFD Technical Cooperation Programme Implementation and follow-up mission to promote the identification and structuring of renewable and energy efficiency investments in Indonesia. He was also project manager of a microfinance fund that provided technical assistance and financing to MFIs and banks in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2011 to 2013.
