Henley Business School

Martin Bicknell is School Director for Teaching and Learning and provides strategic oversight of teaching and learning across the business school.  He teaches on a number of people-related modules. Martin's academic background is in Organisational Behaviour / Psychology and his research has concerned workplace stress. He has recently been considering this from a psychoanalytic perspective that draws on the work of Jacques Lacan.  Martin has a strong interest in the theory and practice of higher education and has a particular interest in technology enhanced learning.  He is pioneering the roll-out of massive open online courses (MOOCs) in the business school (see FutureLearn) .  Martin came to academic life relatively recently having previously been a management consultant with KPMG and his own company where he specialised in public policy and strategy work in the telecommunications and media sectors.

He has broad experience teaching modules relatig to the management of people.
