Mark J McCabe received his PhD in applied economics from MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 1991. His research in the field of industrial organization currently focuses on the economics of digital information goods markets (with a particular interest in scientific publishing) and the implications of the online environment. He has worked as an economist at the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division (1991-1998); in the Department of Economics at Georgia Tech (1998-2007), at the University of Michigan’s School of Information (2007-2015), and at the University of Göttingen (Germany, 2011-2013). As a State Center Economist, he assisted Attorney Generals from different US states, including California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York, on a variety of antitrust investigations.
