Biography
Marco Clemente, Ph.D., is currently an Associate Professor of Strategy and CSR at IESEG School of Management in Paris. Marco has an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from HEC Paris. Previously he was a Visiting Ph.D. Scholar at the NYU Stern School of Business, a Post-doc at Aalto University in Helsinki, and an Assistant Professor of Management at Sungkyunkwan University, SKK GSB in Seoul. Before joining Academia, Marco was a marketing manager in the P&G Beauty sector in Rome and Geneva.
Marco’s research and teaching focus on business ethics, CSR, and personal development. He has analyzed a variety of contexts, including automotive, advertising, and sports. Marco has publications in top academic journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management Inquiry, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. He is also active n the area of personal and professional development. He has created and taught an MBA course called: “Strategize Your Life® with Simple Rules.” This is the course that he would have liked to have had as a student.
Marco was nominated among the 2020 “Best 40 under 40 MBA Professors” by Poets & Quants. He was called la “La crème des Professors” by Le Monde des Grandes Écoles et Universités and was nominated LSE alum of the month in August 2020. Marco did a TEDx in Mantova in 2019 on the topic: “Personal crises: How to overcome them and transform your life.”
He is also the author of the book “Simple Rule of The Day: The daily art of becoming a better you.” Marco has also delivered multiple webinars on personal development and financial freedom for LSE, NYU, HEC Paris, Amazon France, IESEG Executive Education.
Marco lived in eight countries between Europe, North America, and Asia and has visited more than 50 countries. He is passionate about marathons, Spartan races, triathlons, yoga retreats, and meditation. In 2016 he did the 10-day Vipassana silence and meditation retreat. He is also known for trying different “monthly challenges” that include cold showers, gratitude journals, meditation, etc.
