Visiting Lecturer ESMT Berlin, co-founder and managing editor of the journal "Der Aufsichtsrat", and is a professor (currently on leave) of Business Administration at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where he held the chair of General Business Administration, Taxation and Accounting, and Tax Law until the autumn of 2010. He is one of the most renowned corporate governance experts in Germany. His research interests also include the foundations and systems of business management monitoring, corporate taxation with respect to legal form, the international comparison of tax burdens on businesses, the taxation of affiliated companies, business management issues of corporate groups, and the theoretical aspects of science. Another focus of his work is the Societas Europaea (SE), the European Company.
