International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans

Ms. Metz is currently a consultant for NYSUT Member Benefits. She recently retired from NYSUT after 34 years of service, where she held the titles of director of NYSUT Member Benefits, chief executive officer of NYSUT Member Benefits Corporation and plan administrator for the NYSUT Member Benefits Catastrophe Major Medical Plan. These organizations provide a wide variety of programs and services to more than 650,000 NYSUT public sector union members. The programs and services include supplemental medical benefits, including medical, prescription drug and long-term care, life, disability, dental, vision, legal and financial counseling, as well as a number of educational programs including student loan debt counseling. Ms. Metz was responsible for researching and implementing new programs through an extensive endorsement process, administration of the programs including payroll and pension deduction payment options, and ongoing extensive monitor of the programs for member satisfaction. While working for NYSUT, she also held the position of chair of the NYSUT Employees 401(k) Plan Board of Trustees and trustee on the NYSUT Employees Pension Plan Board of Trustees. She is the current chair of the Delta Dental of New York Board of Directors, where she has been a director since 2014. Ms. Metz currently serves as Public Employees Sector Representative on the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Executive Committee; member, Past Chair and Executive Committee Liaison on the Public Employees Board; and a member of the Strategic Initiative Steering Committee. She is an accountant and graduate of Siena College.
