Background

Lynda Weaver is the Western Claims Operations Director for Nationwide Insurance Companies in Columbus, Ohio.  In this position, she is responsible for leading multiple strategic initiatives and administrative operation functions for approximately 1,600 personal lines claims associates. She also monitors the financial management, project/resource budgeting and resource planning for the 26state operation. Prior to joining Claims Operations, Ms. Weaver held positions in Public Policy, Risk Management, Product and Pricing, Internal Audits, Claims and Underwriting. 

Ms. Weaver received a B.S.B.A. in Insurance and Risk Management from the Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University.  In addition to general scholastic titles, she holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) insurance designation. She also holds a variety of positions on external trade association committees and insurance industry organizations.

B.S.B.A. in Insurance and Risk Management from the Ohio State University  Master of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University.

BUSFIN 3300 Introduction to Insurance and Risk

Basic principles and main characteristics of the Insurance Industry and the fundamentals of risk identification, insurance contracts, and annuities. Prereq: Econ 2001.01 (200), 2002.01 (201), and BusMHR 2292 (BusAdm 499.01). Not open to students with credit for 640.
