Professor Rios draws on strategy, organizational theory, and economics to study the dynamics of organizational structure, primarily within technology and knowledge intensive settings. His work has looked both at the interaction between formal and informal elements of internal structure, and the interaction between internal structure and the external environment. He has been published in some of the field's top journals. Prior to academia, Professor Rios had a succesful career as an award-winning investment professional and entrepreneur, experience that informs his research and teaching.
