Professor Loren J. Samons II is a professor of classical studies and associate chair of the department who received his PhD in the subject from Brown University in 1991. He is currently teaching courses on Greek history and the Latin language. He is also currently the recipient of a Distinguished Teaching Professorship from The National Endowment for the Humanities.
