Biography

Lindy undertook her BA(Hons) in her native Australia at La Trobe University in Melbourne and her PhD in Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. Her doctoral research centred on the introduction of the fast potters’ wheel on Late Bronze Age Cyprus, with particular reference to the town of Enkomi. She also held the post of British Academy Reckitt Postdoctoral Fellow in Archaeology at Manchester, investigating Levantine-Cypriot connections at the end of the Middle Bronze Age. Teaching includes two Level 3 courses  ‘Feasting and fashioning in the eastern Mediterranean’ and  ‘Issues and Controversies in Archaeology and Ancient History’, and she contributes to ‘Changing Worlds in the Near East and East Mediterranean’. Lindy is also interested in the display of prehistoric archaeology in museum contexts and investigating methods of communicating less readily accessible sites to non-specialist audiences.
