Australia and New Zealand School of Government
Liam is Director and co-founder of BehaviourWorks Australia (BWA). Since establishing BWA in 2011, he has overseen significant growth and the research group now consists of over 20 staff. Liam is committed to drawing on leading behavioural science insights to help solve the problems that face society, and making BWA the bridge between academic research and practical real-world solutions. He does this in many ways including conducting / overseeing over 150 behaviour change research projects, publishing reports, research papers and public discussion pieces, and sitting on numerous committees (e.g. Zoos Victoria’s Science Committee, South East Water’s Customer Engagement Council, VicHealth’s Leading Thinker Taskforce).
Liam's primary research interest is human behaviour and he has investigated several behavioural antecedents including emotion, attitudes, norms and values. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and reports on human behaviour and behaviour change. Project topics have focused on human behaviour and behaviour change at the individual or societal level to create better environmental, health and safety and economic outcomes. He has done this in collaboration with all levels of Government, NGO's and the private sector. The strong collaborative and end-user focus of this body of work yields benefits for all parties, most notably implementation-ready results and professional development.
