Vlerick Business School Executive Education
Leo is an expert in translating the challenges of a changing global environment into relevant strategic issues for corporate decision making.
Leo Sleuwaegen is Professor of Managerial Economics, Strategy and Innovation at KU Leuven and Full Professor at Vlerick Business School. He has recently been Visiting Professor at Erasmus University of Rotterdam, where he held for many years the Trust Fund endowed Chair “European Integration and Corporate Strategy”, University of California (Irvine), Bocconi University (Milan), Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and New York University.
He holds a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven. His dissertation was awarded ’Best Doctoral Dissertation'' by the Academy of International Business, New York, in 1985. As Expert-Consultant he has worked for the European Commission, World Bank, OECD, United Nations, the Belgian and Flemish government and major international companies.
Leo Sleuwaegen has published in a wide array of international journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of International Business Studies, European Economic Review, International Journal of Industrial Organization, World Economy, Economics Letters, Review Of Industrial Organization, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Development Studies, Weltwirtschafliches Archiv and Research Policy. He is also Associate Editor of the International Journal of the Economics of Business and serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of International Business Studies.
