Biography

Lee S. Sproull is the Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business Emerita at New York University Stern School of Business. Prior to retirement, she was vice dean of faculty at the Stern School and a member of the Information, Operations, and Management Sciences department. She is an internationally-recognized sociologist whose research centers on the implications of computer-based communication technologies for managers, organizations, communities, and society. She has published the results of her research in eight books and more than 75 articles.

Professor Sproull has held previous appointments as Professor of Management at Boston University and Professor of Social and Decision Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. She earned a B.A. from Wellesley College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
