BIOGRAPHY

Laurie R. Weingart is the Richard M. and Margaret S. Cyert Professor of Organizational Behavior and Theory at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently serving as CMU’s Interim Provost (2017-present). Within the Tepper School, she served as Senior Associate Dean – Education (2014-2017) and as Director of the Accelerate Leadership Center from 2012-2014. Dr. Weingart earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1989. Her research examines negotiation, conflict, and innovation in interdisciplinary teams. Prof. Weingart has published over 60 articles and book chapters in the fields of management, social psychology, industrial psychology, cognitive psychology, and economics. Dr. Weingart served as Chair of the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management (2001), the President of the International Association for Conflict Management (2003-2004), and the Founding President of the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research (2007 – 2012). She also served as co-editor of the Annals of the Academy of Management (2013-2017).
