University of Western Australia Business School
Lauren’s style is warm and spontaneous: how she shows up in session is how she shows up in the rest of her life. Lauren’s focus in her all her work is to assist clients to create richer, more meaningful lives and this theme is central to her counselling. She views mental health problems as a normal part of being human.
Lauren’s areas of interest include:
- Men’s mental health
- Work related issues
- Perinatal mental health
- Relationship issues
Lauren has fifteen years of experience in counselling, coaching and facilitation. She has worked therapeutically with children, adolescents, adult men and women, and couples during her career. She now works exclusively with adults and couples at Amherst Psychology. Alongside her private practice, Lauren works an Executive Education Consultant, providing leadership workshops and coaching to leaders in a broad range of industries.
Lauren’s preferred theoretical models include Interpersonal Therapy, Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but she also employs the theories and techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Lauren is also accredited in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Thought Field Therapy (TFT).
