Biography
Laura Owen is an associate professor and director of undergraduate economics programs. Owen teaches courses on the principles of macroeconomics, labor economics, american economic history and behavioral economics. Owen has been teaching at DePaul since 1990.
Owen's research interests include American economic history, U.S. labor history, industrial relations and American studies. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economic History, Industrial and Corporate Change and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History.
Owen is the recipient of numerous honors, grants and awards, including the DePaul University Research Council Leave and the Faculty Summer Research Grant. She has also served as the advisor for Liberal Arts & Sciences economics majors since 1991.
