Kun-Chin Lin

Kun-chin Lin, PhD/MA (UC Berkeley), BA (magna cum laude, Harvard). Dr Lin is a University Lecturer in Politics, and Acting Director of the Centre for Rising Powers, University of Cambridge. He was a Leverhulme Postdoctoral Fellow in Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford, and held previously posts at King's College London and the National University of Singapore. Dr Lin is an associate fellow of The Chatham House, a principal investigator at Energy@Cambridge, a research fellow of the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporations, and serves on the Frost & Sullivan’s Board of Economic Advisors. He is on the editorial or advisory board of Business & Politics, Palgrave Studies in the Political Economy of Public Policy Series, and Routledge Research on the Politics and Sociology of China Series. His current research interests focusing on China include transport infrastructure development, energy security, industrial policy and labor relations in the petroleum sector, maritime governance, and regionalism in Asia.

Research

My current research projects focus on three topics: maritime governance in Asia, fiscal politics of road-building in China, and reform of state-owned enterprises and industrial policy in China.
