Personal profile
Research interests
I am contributing to Bath’s ‘MOOC’ titled ‘Make an impact: sustainability for professionals’, run through the FutureLearn platform. More information about this free online course.
Since 2000, I have been actively engaged in research, teaching and consulting on a variety of areas within the corporate social responsibility/ sustainability domain. My research interests fall broadly within international management and organizational behaviour, focusing on CSR, business ethics, environmental management and power dynamics within and between individuals and organizations.
My previous work focuses on the creation and implementation of CSR/ sustainability strategy and the many factors that affect its meaningful uptake by business such as the role of power and identity, individual attitudes & behaviour, institutional influences, internationalisation strategies, legislation and regulation, and other societal influences. This has led to a number of interesting insights that include tools and models for managers to help build CSR/ sustainability competence within their organisations. More recent work investigates important issues around how to improve organisational governance for the long-term survival of firms, organisational resilience, and the incorporation of power into conceptualisations of responsible business.
