Alberta School of Business

Dr. Konstantin Dlusskiy is a senior soil scientist with more than ten years of experience in environmental consulting and additional ten years of international research experience. As a pedologist, managed and conducted soil survey across Western and Central Canada and in Russia. Mapped soils at various SIL levels, prepared Environmental Impact Assessments, Pre-Disturbance Assessments, and Conservation & Reclamation Plans. Highly skilled in soil classification, assessing soils for reclamation suitability, soil compaction and erosion, agricultural land suitability and land capability for forest ecosystems in the oil sands region, as well as landscape interpretation through field evaluation and aerial photo interpretation. Managed projects and supervised field programs of various level of complexity, managed and trained field personnel. Experienced in using various GIS and HD-MAPP systems. As a researcher, participated in several international projects in Europe, Asia and North America, working with multidisciplinary teams of geologists, soil scientists and paleoenvironment specialists. The research involved soil survey and mapping in southern Russia and Siberia, paleoenvironment study in Midwestern US, Mongolia, and central Russia, and surficial geology mapping in northern Alberta. Currently, Dr. Dlusskiy is teaching introductory and advanced courses in soil science and geology at university and college levels.
