After studying business administration, Prof. Knut Föckler was head of studies at a market research institute in Hamburg. In 1975, he joined the marketing team of Philip Morris GmbH and was promoted to Managing Director Marketing in 1987. From 1992 to 1995, he was Executive Vice President of KirchGroup in Munich; from 1993 to 1995, he was Head of Entertainment and Director of Marketing at SAT.1 TV; he then became Managing Director of MSN Germany.
Knut Foeckler is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of marketing and media. His know-how ranges from production to the creative aspects of broadcasting to research, sales and marketing.
He advises various companies on the convergence of media, marketing and brand strategy. Alongside his professional career, he taught as a professor of design at the Cologne International School of Design, as a lecturer at Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film (HFF) in Munich, and was awarded an honorary professorship from Freie Universität Berlin.
At MBS, he is a lecturer for international media management. He also is a member of the advisory board for the post-graduate studies EMBE HSG/Executive Master of Business Engineering at University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
