ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES

Dr. Kevin J. Wynne is the Undergraduate Finance Chairperson in Pleasantville and the Academic Director of the Masters in Finance for Professionals (MFP) and the Fast Track MBA at the New York City campus. He joined the Lubin School of Business in 1989. He has served on four doctoral committees over the past five years at Pace University. Dr. Wynne's teaching interest include corporate finance, international finance, and investments. He has taught the Corporate Finance course at the undergraduate level and Corporate Finance and Statistics and International Finance at the graduate level.

Dr. Wynne's research interest includes risk management, investments, and higher education. He recently co-authored 2 empirical papers on the Student Managed Investment Portfolio (SMIP) at Pace University. The first paper was titled “Investor Behavior in a University Student Managed Portfolio” and published in Investment Management and Financial Innovations (2014). The paper analyzed some behavioral explanations on how students traded. The second paper was titled “Invisible Handcuffs: Identifying Investment Constraints Through Fund Performance and published in Investment Management and Financial Innovations (2015). The paper illustrated that constraints on the portfolio were priced into the overall performance of the fund. He is presently working on a paper about stock selection in the SMIP class based upon gender. He also co-authored a paper titled “A Survey of Team Teaching Effectiveness in Executive Business Programs” and published in the Journal of Executive Education (2013). The paper contrasted programs that were taught by just finance faculty and ones that were taught by multi-disciplined faculty.

Dr. Wynne presented a paper titled “All Natural Disasters are Not Created Equally: Lessons from Two Universities” at the Global Business Research Symposium in Cork, Ireland in 2017. This is an empirical paper looking at the effects of Hurricane Sandy and a series of snowstorms on business school students in the northeast. He also served as a reviewer at the same conference. Dr. Wynne attended a conference on application of the language R in finance in Chicago in 2016. In 2018, he attended a forum on applications of blockchain management in finance. A paper entitled Natural Disasters and their Policy Implications for Business Schools authored with 2 others individuals was published in the Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education in 2018.
