Biography
Kevin Murray is a communications specialist with more than 40 years of experience and two best-selling books on leadership to his credit. He is author of “The Language of Leaders” and “Communicate to Inspire”, both of which deal with how top leaders communicate to inspire, influence and achieve results. They were the result of more than 70 in depth interviews with the Chairmen and CEO’s of some of the world’s leading businesses, charities and public sector organisations. Both have received much acclaim from the literary, and leadership worlds, alike. (www.leadershipcommunication.com). Kevin is also Chairman of the Good Relations Group, the Public Relations Division of Chime Communications. The Group comprises of well-known brands such as Corporate Citizenship, Good Relations, Harvard and InEvidence. It employs 280 people serving 300 clients in the UK and internationally. As a consultant, Kevin specialises in the field of strategic communications and reputation management, and leadership communications coaching. He has years of experience advising chairmen and chief executives, as well as directors of communication and marketing. He also has considerable experience in managing complex and global communications projects and departments. His own leadership journey started when he had to lead a newsroom full of highly independent journalists on The Star newspaper, in Johannesburg. Since then, he has led teams and businesses for more than three decades. For clients, he has managed significant issues and crisis communications in the heat of national controversies in the chemicals, nuclear, aviation, and banking sectors, to name but a few. Previously he was the director of communications for British Airways and, before that, Director of Corporate Affairs for AEA Technology, the business that was floated off from the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. Prior to AEA, Kevin was Group Public Relations Manager for Bayer companies in the UK. Bayer is one of the world’s major chemicals-to-pharmaceuticals companies. Kevin has advised companies including BSkyB, G4S, Gazprom, Airbus, Lloyds TSB, McLaren F1, British Nucleur Fuels, Emirates Airline, 118118, Marconi, Vauxhall, British Gas, Permira, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Adobe, Fujitsu, SABMiller and Allen & Overy.
He is also a former national newspaper journalist, magazine publisher and marketing director, having started his career as a crime reporter on The Star newspaper in Johannesburg. Kevin is also an enthusiastic husband, father and grandfather, a mad keen golfer, a theatre-goer, film-watcher, traveller, TV watcher, book reader and story teller.

Kevin is author of three business books – “People with Purpose”, ”The Language of Leaders” , and “Communicate to Inspire” . People with Purpose was published in February 2017 and features exclusive interviews with CEO’s, neuroscientists, and psychologists and gives every leader an insight in to how to use purpose to encourage super performance.
He has interviewed more than 100 CEO’s and has conducted exclusive poles among 3000 managers and 6000 employees on what are truly motivational behaviours. He speaks at conferences and leadership events around the world, and does exclusive leadership coaching.
He will teach persuasive leadership and the language of great leaders on the third day.
