Following his training in Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr Lim underwent subspecialty training in Pediatric Orthopaedics at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and at The Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. Within the subspecialty of Children’s orthopaedics, Dr Lim’s interests are: scoliosis, clubfoot, cerebral palsy, and fractures in children.
As Chairman of the Division of Surgery, he oversees the running of the surgical departments and services in KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He is also Academic Deputy Chair in the Academic Clinical Program for Surgery (SURG-ACP) under the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medicine partnership.
He is Board Chairman and volunteer doctor at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (formerly the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore). Dr Lim also serves as a Board Member in Chapter of Orthopaedic Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Dr Lim has won several prestigious awards for both service and teaching excellence. They include the national PS21 (Public Service) Star Service Award; the Healthcare Humanity Award; and the NUS Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He has also been the recipient of several international scholarships and travelling fellowships.
