Kerri received her undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley where she double majored in Political Science and Rhetoric. Kerri then attended NYU School of Law, after which she began a 13-year legal career focused on employment law representing Fortune 100 companies as well as individual clients in pro bono matters. Kerri's McCareer began in 2013 when she left her position as Senior Corporate Counsel at 24 Hour Fitness, and entered McDonald's Next Generation Program. Kerri completed the program and became an approved McDonald's Owner/Operator in 2017. Kerri purchased her first two restaurants in 2018, and continues to work with her sister to expand the business. Kerri is a Trustee of the Board of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House and serves on both regional and national McDonald's Teams. In addition to working with her sister, Kerri maintains a small legal practice which focuses on representing women who have been discriminated against by their employers.

Before starting her McDonald's journey, Kerri attended the University of California, Berkeley where she double majored in Political Science and Rhetoric. After graduating, she attended NYU School of Law to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer. She went to work for the prestigious international law firm of Paul Hastings where she represented Fortune 500 companies in every phase of employment law work. She later held inhouse leadership roles at AT&T and 24 Hour Fitness, with the latter being her final employer prior to venturing out as an entrepreneur. When she isn't working at one of her restaurants, Kerri volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California and her sorority, the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Additionally, she serves on the board of her local Mocha Moms chapter and has spearheaded baby item donation programs in the community.
