Biography

Dr Kwan graduated from the University of Oxford in 2002 and received his orthopaedic training in Hong Kong and the UK. He obtained his MRCS in 2006 and FRCS in 2011, and is a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Orthopedic Surgeons. He was Resident Specialist of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatolog at the Queen Mary Hospital from 2011 to 2015 and is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the University of Hong Kong since 2015. At present he is the Honorary Secretary of the Spine Chapter of the Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association, Board Member of the Asia Pacific Spine Society and Member of the AOSpine Fellows Alumni Steering Committee. Previously he was Council Member of the Spine Chapter of the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Chairman of Young Fellows Committee of the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeon, Chairman of the Young Fellows Chapter of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Council Member of the Hong Kong College of Orthopaedic Surgeon, Member of Non-operative Management Committee of the Scoliosis Research Society, Vice-Chairman of the Osteoporosis Subcommittee of the Younger Chinese Orthopaedic Assoication Committee of PR China. Dr Kwan was being invited to over 50 international, regional and local conferences as speaker and has published 41 refereed articles and 3 book chapters in spine surgery.
