Biography
Justin Kruger joined New York University Stern School of Business as an associate professor of marketing in July 2005. Before joining NYU Stern, Professor Kruger was Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he won the Hohenboken Teaching Award for outstanding teaching. He teaches Judgment and Decision Making in the undergraduate, M.B.A., and Ph.D. programs at NYU Stern.
Professor Kruger's research focuses on everyday judgment and decision making, with a specific emphasis on positive illusions, myopia, egocentrism, taste, and heuristics.
Professor Kruger has published articles in several scholarly journals including Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Psychological Science. His work has been featured in Newsweek, US News & World Report, The New York Times, and The Harvard Business Review as well as NPR and the BBC, and cited over 2,500 times (Google Scholar, March 2011).
Professor Kruger received his B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Cornell University in 1999.
