Research Summary

Julie is broadly interested in the legal regulation of gender and intimate relationships, particularly parenthood and the intersection of health care law with family life. Her recent work has focussed on legal parenthood and gender in the context of assisted reproduction. She is currently developing a research project on birth registration, which aims to critically evaluate recent legislative changes as well as the role of birth registration in contemporary society more generally. She is also interested in interdisciplinary and empirically informed approaches to socio-legal research.
