Judith Ainsworth

Dr. Ainsworth received her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics/Professional Communication from the University of Montreal. Her research focuses on student learning and engagement while working in teams, international and cross-cultural management communication, Critical Discourse Analysis of CEO (unethical) communication with stakeholders, and discourse of the Chilean wine trade. In 2016, she received a grant from the Team-Based Learning Collaborative for a study entitled “Team-Based Learning in Communication Courses for Accounting Graduates: Investigating Student Engagement, Accountability, and Satisfaction”. Her article based on this research is forthcoming in the Journal of Accounting Education. She has published in the Journal of Management Education, Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, Global Advances in Business Communication and the Journal of Language for International Business.

Dr. Ainsworth teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the area of Leadership and Management Communication, Professional Skills Development and Business Communications. She has also taught Professional Communication courses at both English- and French-speaking universities, and in the corporate world.

Before joining Temple University, she taught Professional Writing and Communication for the MBA and specialized masters’ programs in International Business, Management, Information Systems and Operations Management, and Real Estate at the Warrington College of Business, University of Florida. Previously, she held pedagogical appointments with Canada’s McGill University, University of Montreal and University of Quebec at Montreal. Her corporate clients include McGill University, Bombardier Aerospace and Michelin Tire Manufacturing.
