Biography

NUS Institute of Systems Science

Joshua is an ideator, design thinker and social innovation activist. He leads the experience design team at ONG&ONG previously where he helps organisations craft better products, services and experiences through a user-centred approach to innovation. Trained in architecture, he deeply believes that design, when approached with empathy and applied creatively as a system that builds sustainable positive benefits, is a powerful tool for transformation and change.

As a seasoned consultant and one of the early practitioners of Design Thinking in Singapore, Joshua has successfully worked with various public and private sector clients to deeply understand their needs and co-create humanistic experiences that are grounded in user-centricity and beautiful in their inventiveness. These include companies and agencies such as the Singapore Zoo, Changi Airport Group, Singapore Airlines, Singapore Exchange, OCBC Bank, the Housing & Development Board, the Ministry of Education and the Health Sciences Authority.

Joshua is a firm advocate of design thinking as a tool to build innovation capacity within organisations. He is also a natural communicator with more than 10 years of experience in design facilitation and has curated and led many Design Thinking programmes in organisations and schools to train and develop staff.

Joshua is also one of the co-founders of ReallyArchitecture (re:ACT), a not-for-profit organization that believes in transforming communities through sustainable and relevant ground-up design. He is constantly thinking about how to make the world better through impactful and meaningful design and is passionate about mentoring the next generation to be like-minded change agents.
