University of Houston-Clear Lake
Jordan Mitchell is an associate professor of healthcare administration. He received his Ph.D. in health services policy and management from the University of South Carolina. He holds his undergraduate and master degree from East Carolina University in jazz performance and business, respectively. During his doctoral training at the University of South Carolina, he was awarded an R36 individual dissertation grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to study health information technology and health disparities. His research has been published in the Journal of Rural Health and the International Journal of Health Information Systems and Informatics, among others. At University of Houston-Clear Lake, Dr. Mitchell teaches courses in healthcare finance and health information systems, and serves as faculty adviser to the UH-Clear Lake Healthcare Financial Management Association student chapter. His research focuses on health information technology, health finance and health disparities.
