Haas School of Business

Jonathan Goldman joined Abzena as CEO in 2018 as part of the take-private of the company. He was previously an Operating Partner at Welsh Carson where he focused on healthcare investments. He transitioned from the CEO role to the Board of Abzena in 2022.

Jonathan has 30 years of experience in healthcare and has been CEO at Aptuit, as well as holding senior executive positions at ICON Plc and Point Biomedical, where he served as Chief Medical Officer. He has also held appointments as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in the division of Cardiology at the University of California, and as an Attending Cardiologist at the San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center, following a position at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford UK as a Consultant Cardiologist.

Jonathan trained in medicine at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College and in Cardiology at St. George’s Hospital, London. He received BS.c., MBBS and M.D. degrees from the University of London, UK. He was awarded MBAs by Columbia University in New York and the University of California at Berkeley, USA.
