Dr. Bohlmann is Professor of Marketing at the Poole College of Management, North Carolina State University. His research interests focus on innovation and product development, marketing strategy, and team decision-making. Dr. Bohlmann’s work has been featured in numerous press outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and the Daily Mail (London). He has conducted executive education programs on innovation, design thinking, and marketing with numerous companies. Dr. Bohlmann received a Ph.D. in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and served on the faculty of Purdue University and Michigan State University prior to his arrival in 2008 at NC State.
Before entering academia, he worked as an engineer in the aerospace industry on advanced aircraft design, managing several R&D projects related to innovations in materials and product design. Dr. Bohlmann’s research has been published in the top marketing journals, including Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, and the Journal of Product Innovation Management, among others. He also holds a B.S. and M.S. in aeronautical engineering from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from Texas Christian University.
