Biography

John Neal is Professor of Practice for the Sports Business Performance. He teaches a range of topics including leadership, team dynamics, coaching, change and personal performance. He is a performance coach who works with the potential of mind, body and spirit. He is also an exercise physiologist and performance psychologist and works throughout the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, US and Australia and is currently working with a number of professional sports organizations and blue chip corporates ranging from UKSport and British Olympic Association to the NHS, Tetra Pak and Orange.

Prior to joining the full-time faculty at Ashridge, John was Fitness Director to Middlesex CCC, Director of The Middlesex Academy and advisor to the England & West Indies Cricket Boards, MCC, Somerset C.C.C and the I.C.C. He has worked with teams at three World Cups across two sports and both genders. John is also the Wellbeing advisor to the Royal Household.

John's background is in business and elite sport; over the past 15 years he has set up and run his own chain of health clubs, combining this business with consulting and teaching in public and private sectors. He has worked with elite international sports teams as a consultant psychologist, responsible for organisational dynamics and the individual performance of players and coaches.
