Graduate Research Assistant

Researching rail operations strategies & public transit passenger service impacts within the JTL-Transit Lab at MIT, in partnership with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Research areas include: - Developing service pattern & schedule proposals after new 2021 extension of MBTA Green Line in the Greater Boston area - Rigorously analyzing labor-, maintenance-, and fleet-related constraints to strategize maximization of agency resources - Tracking changes in demand and run time to develop plans around the uncertainty of COVID-19 recovery

Research Engineer

Research engineer in The Ohio State University's Campus Transit Lab (CTL). Developed a simulation to integrate bus rapid transit (BRT) and freight operations. Utilized Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO) and MATLAB software to control the simulation and develop measurable outputs of efficiency & costs. Collaborated with the Center for Automotive Research to test new powertrain models.

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Undergraduate Research Assistant in The Ohio State University's Campus Transit Lab (CTL). Combined several existing transit data processing tools created by the Campus Transit Lab to create a comprehensive program to analyze passenger flows. Successfully adapted the program for use beyond the campus transit network, such as for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA). Participated in the collection of field data by manually tracking bus riders. Explored uses of anonymized data from users of a mobile app designed to provide information about the campus transit network.

Civil Engineering Intern

Completed funding applications for projects to Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. Created roadway, interchange, roundabout, and mixed-use path designs using CADD software. Coordinated with utility companies to anticipate potential conflicts and constraints. Performed surveying field work along future roadway projects as well as a post-landslide highway corridor.

• AWH (Archer Western Herzog)

Project Management Intern

Interned under Quality Control and Maintenance of Traffic departments during construction of a commuter rail line between downtown Ft. Worth and the Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport. Performed both construction office work and on-site on an active railroad. Assisted with inspections, off-site plant audits and reporting. Coordinated the use of digital resources for the project to ensure proper reporting and file management. Successfully presented project quality control procedures to ISO 9001 auditors.

• Harral and Stevenson Civil Engineering and Surveying

Surveying Intern

Performed surveying field work for design, construction, insurance, and boundary survey projects under the supervision of a licensed surveyor. Researched deed history for urban and rural land parcels. Developed technical drawings for various site designs, lot splits, subdivisions, and other projects using AutoCAD.
