UCLA Anderson School of Management

Biography

A self-described "generalist," Jack McDonough has taught a broad range of management subjects during his 25 years with UCLA.   His research interests include the study of leadership, motivation and teamwork, and organizational design and development.

Professor McDonough was instrumental in bringing the “real-world” into UCLA Anderson’s executive MBA program through the international field study.  The field study is an innovative sequence of courses, which involves the entire class in a strategic consulting project with a multi-national organization. McDonough currently serves as the chairman of faculty.  He co-authored the book The Invisible War: Pursuing Self-Interests at Work in 1980.  His dedication to UCLA Anderson was recognized in 1999 when he was named the first recipient of the La Force Award for Leadership.
