Biography
Fisher College of Business
John David Blackburn teaches classes in the legal environment of business at Fisher. He has been a visiting professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania , the Indiana University Graduate School of Business, and the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida . Professor Blackburn started his college teaching career at the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration after earning his law degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Professor Blackburn is a co-author of several leading textbooks on the integration of law and business, including Legal Environment of Business, Twelfth Edition (Pearson), Modern Business Law, Third Edition (McGraw-Hill), and Labor Relations: Law, Practice & Policy, Second Edition (Foundation Press).
Professor Blackburn has served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Legal Studies Education, and as a staff editor of the American Business Law Journal.
Professor Blackburn has received the Best Article Award from the American Business Law Journal.
He has received several teaching awards.

- Best Article Award, awarded by the editors of the American Business Law Journal for the best article appearing in Volume 17 of the Journal.
- 1978 Best Paper Award awarded by the Rocky Mountain Business Law Association, May, 1978
- Norbert Heinsheimer Essay Prize in Jurisprudence, University of Cincinnati College of Law (1974)
