Zicklin School of Business

As a Lecturer in the Management Department of the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, John Colón’s studies and research focus on the dynamics of a productive work environment that requires the affirmative integration and alignment of people focused on a common mission. He is a former human resource executive with over 40 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector in a global context. His prior pedagogical experience includes serving as an adjunct instructor at Cornell’s New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations and NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. His significant leadership roles have included serving as Chair of the Board of the Gay Men’s Health Crisis; and Vice Chair of Project Equality.

His continuing education includes studies in group relations in the Tavistock tradition; and human interaction, appreciative inquiry, and transactional analysis with the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, Southeast Institute for Group & Family Therapy, and VISIONS, Inc. He earned a diploma in Education for Ministry through the University of the South (Sewanee).
