Ms. Pasternack is entering her sixth season as the Director of 49ers Foundation and Community Relations for the San Francisco 49ers. In this role, she oversees all community relations functions for the team, creating and managing high visibility programs based on the 49ers objectives and areas of focus with a particular emphasis on supporting the "RESPECT" Campaign. The Campaign seeks to leverage the power of community involvement to share the importance of respect and its central role in helping young people become outstanding community citizens. As CR Director, Joanne works with the NFL, non-profit and corporate partners, publicity/media, and supervises and organizes gameday and training camp events, youth football programs, and all player, coach, ownership, and staff community service activities. In her role with the Foundation, she works with team ownership to facilitate signature fundraising events and the donation of funds to non-profits that support the Foundation's mission of keeping kids "Safe, On Track and In School." In 2012, the Foundation donated $2.9 million to Bay Area charities.

Prior to joining the 49ers in 2008, Joanne served as a Senior Analyst for the City of Mountain View, working for the City Manager and the Police Chief. While there, she founded and directed the Mountain View Police Activities League (MVPAL) and was a Public Information Officer, delivering critical and sensitive information to media and the public. Immediately before working for Mountain View, Joanne was the Manager of International Corporate Relations for Special Olympics, Inc. at their headquarters in Washington, DC, cultivating sponsor relationships for the 2001 World Winter Games and promoting programming such as the Athlete Leadership Program, Healthy Athletes, Law Enforcement Torch Run and Young Athletes.

Joanne holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a law degree from Santa Clara University, where she was a Public Interest Scholar and Pro Bono Service Award winner. Joanne is a member of the Board of Directors for the 49ers Academy in East Palo Alto, the Advisory Board for the Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative, a past Board Member of the Junior League of Palo Alto Mid-Peninsula and serves on the Advisory Board for The Dream Foundation. She currently resides in Sunnyvale with her husband, Robert Bardin (who works for the San Jose Earthquakes), 5 year old daughter, Kira, and 3 year old son, Reid.
