Fordham University

Joan Fico is a clinical assistant professor of accounting at the Gabelli School of Business. She teaches the Advanced Auditing course at the graduate level and has previously taught intermediate, financial, and managerial accounting. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Fico assisted with training new investment bankers at Bear Stearns and worked as an auditor at a multinational firm. She is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She is on the board of directors of Cornerstone Family Service, serving on the finance and audit committee, and is a past audit committee chair. Dr. Fico is a certified public accountant in both New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Fico graduated from Rutgers University with her BA, MBA, and PhD in accounting. Her research interests include CEO turnover, financial reporting, auditing, and earnings management. She has presented her research at professional accounting conferences.
