Background

Joan M. Donohue, associate professor of management science, has been teaching at the University of South Carolina since 1988. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in chemical engineering and an MBA and Ph.D. in management science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She has published articles in journals such as the International Journal of Production Research, Production and Operations Management, Scientometrics, Management Science, Operations Research, ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation, Decision Sciences, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. She is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and has served as the vice president of Student Services for the southeastern regional chapter of DSI for eight years. She received a Fulbright scholarship in 2005 and taught Operation Research and Business Statistics in the MBA program at Xiamen University in the P.R. China. Currently she teaches Business Statistics courses at the University of South Carolina.

Research

Donohue current research interests include statistical analysis, analytics, bidding behavior in procurement auctions and simulation modeling.
